Luffa - Thai/Lao Variety (4" pot)

This plant can give you vegetables AND sponges! Luffa is a tasty edible gourd. The vines grow extremely vigorously with little pest pressure throughout the entire summer. It is incredbily productive and you will not be able to eat it fast enough. Which is perfect because when you let them fully mature and dry out, you simply peel the skin off and have a perfect luffa sponge to use in the bath or kitchen! We grow this on our homestead every summer. 

These seeds are from Cody Cve Farm in Lake Wales, FL. They first aquired the variety from a  Thai/Lao immigrant family with a fantastic farm in Ft. Myers, Florida. Cody Cove then did a Luffa variety trial and found that this was an exceptionally good tasting variety that remained tender longer. (Smooth Variety, not ridged.) We will be trying this variety at Little Tree Homestead this year!
