(Clitoria ternatea) This legume is a vigorous climbing vine. It is primarily appreciated for the beautiful blue flowers which are used to make teas and food. Has several medicinal properties. The pods and beans are also eaten in some places. Specially loved by children because the tea is a pH indicator meaning you can use any acid (lemon juice) to create a fun science experiment! We even use it to dye the kids' baths. This is a heat-loving tropical plant which grows well throughout the hot rainy season in Florida. It requires a trellis to support the robust, twining vines.
