This plant can give you vegetables AND sponges! Luffa is a tasty edible gourd. The vines grow extremely vigorously with little pest pressure throughout the entire summer. It is incredbily productive and you will not be able to eat it fast enough. Which is perfect because when you let them fully mature and dry out, you simply peel the skin off and have a perfect luffa sponge to use in the bath or kitchen! We grow this on our homestead every summer.
These seedlings are from seeds that we have saved on our own property year after year. We have no idea what the exact variety is but we know its a good one! It is smooth variety, not ridged. Extremely prolific. Makes nice sponges as well eat fruit for eating.
