With a ripening period of 88 days, this melon boasting salmon-orange flesh traces its roots back to 1965, courtesy of Clemson/AES. Distinguished by its superior disease resistance, it outperforms many hybrid cantaloupes, showcasing resilience against Alternaria leaf spot, powdery mildew, and downy mildew! Thriving in the Mid-Atlantic region and hot, humid environments, this variety stands out as the most Downy Mildew resistant and productive among 38 melon varieties rigorously trialed back in 2013. The netted rind encases round-oval fruits, approximately 6-7 inches in diameter, known for their exceptional keeping qualities.
Grown Organically from seed in our nursery.

Pest/Disease Management: Does need to be protected from caterpillars, particularly when young, which can be done with hand picking or selectively spraying with organic caterpillar treatments. We use BT (sparingly) for caterpillars. Resistant to most mildews but may still occur. We treat with a spray of half water and half milk for mildew.
