Cucumber - Armenian (4" pot)
Cucumber - Armenian (4" pot)
This is a great heat toleranct "cucumber." This classic Armenian cucumber is actually a melon genetically, but taste like a cucumber and has better heat tolerance than true cucumbers. Light green, mild tasting, deeply ribbed fruit. The elongated fruit yields uniform, easily digestible, fluted slices. They are apt to twist and coil growing on the ground, but develop nice and straight when hanging from a trellis. Fruit reaches over 24 inches long, but is best harvested at about 15 inches.
Grown Organically from seed in our nursery.

Pest/Disease Management: Does need to be protected from caterpillars, particularly when young, which can be done with hand picking or selectively spraying with organic caterpillar treatments. We use BT (sparingly) for caterpillars. Resistant to most mildews but may still occur. We treat with a spray of half water and half milk for mildew.
