Squash - Tahitian

Great squash variety for florida summer! Will take the heat for sure. It is a large vining plant that will sprawl upwards of 15 feet if you let it. And will produce loads of delicious squash that can be harvested young to eat like zucchini or can be left on the plant to fully mature into a hard "butternut" type squash. This is our favorite squash variety to grow.

Pest/Disease Management: Does need to be protected from caterpillars, particularly when young, which can be done with hand picking or selectively spraying with organic caterpillar treatments. We use BT (sparingly) for caterpillars. Resistant to most mildews but may still occur. We treat with a spray of half water and half milk for mildew.
